The beta

Live Stream is in beta: it works, and it still changes. Its name in your Plugins list says so ("Live Stream (Beta)"), and so does the header of Live Stream → Studio. "Live Stream" is a working name, and may change when the plugin reaches WordPress.org.

Up to 50 viewers a stream

During the beta, a stream takes up to 50 viewers at once.

  • Who counts: the audience. The hosts don't take a viewer's place.
  • When a stream is full, the next viewer's player says "The stream is full. Joining as soon as a place frees up…" and joins by itself as soon as someone leaves.
  • Where to see it: the licence's details in the header of Live Stream → Studio say how many viewers a stream takes.

What isn't there yet

These are planned, with no dates yet:

  • recordings and replays;
  • streaming in over RTMP (OBS and other encoders stream over WHIP today);
  • Live Stream on WordPress.org.
